Memory fades on a curve. Reviewing too soon wastes time; reviewing too late means starting over. Spaced repetition finds the moment in between — and every successful review pushes the next one further out.
The idea is well tested. Hermann Ebbinghaus charted the forgetting curve in 1885, and a large review of spacing studies found that spreading practice out beats cramming it together for long-term recall (Cepeda et al., 2006). Yes. Choose Continue with Google on the sign-in screen. Verse16 never sees your Google password; Google confirms your email address and shares your name and profile photo. Signing in with Google or with a code sent to the same email address opens the same Verse16 account.
Yes. Your verses, collections and progress are stored on your device, so you can practise without a connection. Changes sync to your account when you are back online, and any other device you sign in on picks them up.
Yes. Create a group — public so anyone can find it, or private by invitation — share collections with it, and follow everyone's progress on the group leaderboard. You can hide yourself from leaderboards in Account & privacy.
Yes. The interface is available in English and Spanish. Switch your language in your profile and the list of Bible translations follows it, so you can memorize from a Spanish Bible.
We store your account details, verses, collections and progress so we can sync them across your devices. We never sell your data, and you can have your account and everything in it deleted at any time by emailing verse16@seamstars.com. See our privacy policy.
